Sworn translation is an official translation performed by a translator who holds sworn (certified) status in the relevant country. Such translations are accepted by government authorities in many European countries without additional certification.

In many European countries (Germany, Poland, France, the Netherlands, etc.) sworn translation is required for submitting documents to official institutions. A regular notarised translation may not be accepted.

A sworn translator is a specialist who has passed a state examination and received official authorisation to produce legally valid translations. Their signature and seal guarantee the accuracy of the translation.

We cooperate with sworn translators for major European languages and will help prepare your documents according to the requirements of the specific country.

Frequently asked questions

A translation performed by a sworn translator — a specialist who has passed an exam and holds official status. Their translation has legal validity without additional notarial certification.

With notarised translation, a notary certifies the translator's signature. With sworn translation, the translator themselves holds official status, and their signature and seal already have legal validity.
